What's the density?

Students figuring out how to find the density of uniform and irregular shapes.
Random objects that we are finding the density.

We Are Makers

I started showing this video in Discovery.  I might have been more excited than my students.

Final Stations

Students looking at the relationship between mass and volume of water.
At the length station students measured whatever they wanted.  Outside in the courtyard was an option, if you wanted to brave the heat.

Science is tasty.

Students are working through stations dealing with measurement. I gave them a pack of M&M's and they had to sort, mass, and graph the information.

When measuring the mass of each color I told them to make a paper boat for thier M&M's. Some took it literally.

What is it?

Today, I put a bunch of equipment out and asked "What is it?" and "What does it do?"

The Walgreens logo.

A masher upper.

A mashed potato masher.

It's cool.

What if we put a paper clip on it?

It's a giant ring.

It holds something.

It clamps to something.
